Artistic Jadeite Laughing Buddha

Artistically carved grade A jadeite Laughing Buhhda measuring 34x20x14mm.

This is a piece of very artistically carved jadeite pendant.  One can only see the laughing face, hands and prayer beads of the Laughing Buhhda.  His body is hidden as he lives a hermit's life.  This style of carving is found near the Yangtsi River of China.  Maybe becasue this area is farther away from the commercial cities of China in the coastal area, work done in this area carries with it a sense of purity and serenity.  The quality of jade is very fine with good translucency.  Grade A quality jade from Burma.  It is a collector's item.
